Andy Stott's Passed Me By has got to be one of the tracks of the year as far as I'm concerned. The whole album is a cracker, but the eponymous final track plumbs chilly depths. So much so, indeed, that its underlying simplicity develops into something truly profound. Well, electronixxx hears tonight that the mighty Black Dog collective have been working on a drum-led remix of a track from new release, We Stay Together. Alas, inquiries reveal that the piece was only performed live, so don't expect anything to turn up on the shelves any time soon. But the very thought of what it might sound like is surely enough to keep us all hoping for more.
